Probe into self-styled wealth guru Jason Fong’s business widens

Diana Goh, ex-wife of wealth guru Jason Fong, was detained at Woodlands Checkpoint amid investigation into Fong's failed property investment scheme involving Telok Blangah Heights property.

Fong and associate Takeshi Lim promised high returns to investors but failed to pay dividends consistently; Fong's investors have lost hundreds of thousands and filed police reports.

Goh faces harassment from angry investors blaming her for losses; she denies wrongdoing and will cooperate with police, warning against harm to her and her daughter.

SINGAPORE – The former wife of self-styled wealth guru Jason Fong was stopped by the authorities at Woodlands Checkpoint and searched after she returned from a trip to Malaysia on Sept 9.

It happened amid a police probe into an alleged Ponzi scheme, which saw multiple investors pour tens of thousands of dollars into Fong’s investment scheme.

Fong, who was declared an undischarged bankrupt in January , had travelled to Kuala Lumpur on a flight on June 21 , and has not left Malaysia since.

His former wife, Diana Goh Geok Lee, posted her experience of being stopped at the checkpoint on Facebook, but deleted it soon after.

Her ex-husband’s investors, who have been pressing Goh for answers, kept screenshots of what she wrote.

Goh said she and her daughter were surrounded by up to six officers on her return from Kuala Lumpur. They had travelled there to visit Fong’s family.

“Without informing me of what happened, they searched my car and body in the investigation room,” said Goh.

“Later... they told me, ‘You are under investigation for Jason Fong’s cheating case.’”

Fong is being investigated over a financial scheme in which he allegedly promised investors returns of up to 15 per cent annually for money they poured into a 134 sq m property in Telok Blangah Heights, which currently houses an unmanned laundromat business .

The 46-year-old, often seen with his Lamborghini, became popular on social media as he hobnobbed with local personalities and used the attention to attract investors.

The Straits Times found seven investors who had invested a total of $390,000 in the scheme.

Goh said since her former husband ’s sudden silence after leaving the investors’ WhatsApp chat group in 2025 , disgruntled investors have pressed her for answers, even turning up at her home uninvited.

She said she has had to deal with multiple phone calls and surprise visits to her shop by Fong’s investors who are demanding the return of their investments.

In an earlier Facebook post, Goh said a former investor had turned up at her shop (location undisclosed) on Sept 13 and caused a scene.

“I can understand every investor’s frustration, but what I cannot accept is this: When my daughter tried to calm her down and suggested we go have a meal and talk properly, she shouted at my daughter,” said Goh , adding that the woman even chased after her daughter.

Goh took over a design business from her former husband in June 2026, according to business records.

Police have reached out to a number of investors to unravel the scheme Fong allegedly ran since ST published the report on Aug 31 .

Two investors, who declined to be named, said they were interviewed by police investigators separately earlier in September. Another two said they have been asked to turn up for interviews in September and October.

Matthew Chua said he had learnt about Fong in 2020 at a wealth seminar, where he was introduced to Fong and his now ex-wife.

Fong began to promote a commercial property investment to Chua, who later roped in a friend , with the pair investing a total of $50,000 in the scheme in March 2022 .

According to an agreement seen by ST, Fong promised to pay Chua and his friend dividend s of $5,000 once a year over a period of four years.

But Chua said they received payments only in March 2023 and March 2024.

Chua shared with ST why he trusted Fong’s property investment: “When I joined the wealth seminar , the organiser was promoting Fong and Diana. At that time, the property had promising returns and a 10 per cent yearly return was attractive. There was no bad news about Fong back then.”

The 50-year-old real estate agent said he tried contacting Fong after the payments stopped, but received no answers.

Fong is not the only self-styled wealth guru being investigated by police.

ST understands Fong’s former business associate Takeshi Lim Jian Bin, who also made a name for himself on social media platforms, is the subject of a separate probe.

Lim, 36, had allegedly promised 5 per cent to 10 per cent returns a year for investments into his vending machine and industrial property deals.

More than 40 investors poured around $4 million into the schemes.

Lim, who, like Fong, drove a Lamborghini, later apologised to investors when they failed to receive dividends .

“我能理解每位投资者的沮丧，但我无法接受的是：当我的女儿试图让她冷静下来，并建议我们一起吃饭好好谈谈时，她却对我的女儿大喊大叫，”吴女士说，并补充说，那名女子甚至追着她的女儿跑。

根据商业记录，吴女士于 2026 年 6 月从前夫手中接管了一家设计公司。

自《海峡时报》8月31日刊登报道以来，警方已联系多名投资者，以揭开方某涉嫌运作的骗局。

两名不愿透露姓名的投资者表示，他们9月初分别接受了警方调查人员的问询。另有两名投资者表示，他们被要求在9月和10月接受问询。

Matthew Chua表示，他是在2020年的一次财富研讨会上了解到Fong的，当时有人向他介绍了Fong和他现在的妻子（当时还是前妻）。

方开始向蔡推销一项商业地产投资，蔡后来拉拢了一位朋友，两人于 2022 年 3 月在该计划中总共投资了 5 万美元。

据《海峡时报》看到的一份协议显示，方承诺在四年内每年向蔡及其朋友支付 5000 美元的股息。

但蔡先生表示，他们只在 2023 年 3 月和 2024 年 3 月收到了付款。

蔡先生向《海峡时报》透露了他为何信任方先生的房地产投资：“我参加财富研讨会时，主办方正在推介方先生和戴安娜。当时，他们的房产投资回报前景可观，10%的年回报率很有吸引力。而且当时方先生也没有任何负面消息。”

这位 50 岁的房地产经纪人表示，在款项停止支付后，他曾试图联系方，但没有得到任何回复。

方并不是唯一一位被警方调查的自封财富大师。

据《海峡时报》了解，方的前商业伙伴林建斌（Takeshi Lim Jian Bin）也在社交媒体平台上小有名气，目前正接受另一项调查。

据称，36岁的林某承诺，投资他的自动售货机和工业地产项目每年可获得5%至10%的回报。

超过 40 位投资者向这些骗局投入了约 400 万美元。

林和方一样都开兰博基尼，后来在投资者未能收到股息时向他们道歉。
