In a recent operation, Malaysian immigration officers, in cooperation with the National Anti Drug Agency, raided an entertainment center in Jalan Klang Lama, arresting four foreign nationals without valid travel documents.
The center, known for its dance shows by foreign men, has been operating since last year, catering to local and foreign patrons.
The detainees are currently under investigation under the Immigration Act.
Immigration Director General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban emphasized the ongoing commitment to joint operations targeting illegal activities.
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 — Immigration officers raided an entertainment centre in Jalan Klang Lama offering dance shows by foreign men during a special operation early Saturday.
Immigration director general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the raid began at 12.05am following a month of surveillance and public tip offs, Sinar Harian (SH) reported.
Four foreigners were detained — three Chinese nationals and one Filipino man aged between 21 and 31. Checks found none had valid travel documents or passes.
Zakaria said the operation was carried out with support from the National Anti Drug Agency.
The outlet, operating since last year, was believed to have targeted local and foreign patrons in the Klang Valley, charging between RM53 and RM700 depending on drinks and table bookings.
The detainees were taken to the Immigration Department office in Putrajaya for further action. The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
Three local men were also issued notices to assist investigations.
Zakaria said the Immigration Department will continue joint operations with other enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities.
