Television and radio stations have been advised to adjust their programming as a sign of respect following the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil expressed condolences on behalf of the government to her family.
Tun Dr Siti Hasmah, who passed away at the National Heart Institute at the age of 100, was recognized for her significant contributions to the nation and her close connection to the people.
Her passing was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir.

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil also conveyed his condolences to the family of the wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“On behalf of the Government, I extend my condolences to the family of Allahyarhamah Tun Dr Siti Hasmah, especially to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family.
“This is a deeply saddening moment. The late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah contributed greatly to the country and was often seen as someone close to the people,” he told reporters after officiating the launch of local mobile operator BeOne Mobile here today.
Tun Dr Siti Hasmah died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) this morning at the age of 100.
Her death was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, when contacted by Bernama today. — Bernama
