Loh Kean Yew makes history as first Singaporean to reach Asian Games badminton final, closes in on gold

Singapore's star shuttler Loh Kean Yew is through to the men's singles finals of the Asian Games after beating South Korea 2-1 on Monday (Sept 28).

With the victory over world number 46 Yoo Tae-bin, Loh is the first Singaporean to advance to a single's badminton final at the Games.

Loh, 29, was assured of a historic Asian Games medal after beating Indonesia's number one Jonatan Christie on Sunday .

Now, he is guaranteed at least a silver medal.

Loh will face Thailand's world No. 2 Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the gold medal match on Sept 29.

Singapore's only previous badminton medal at the Asian Games came in 2006, when the women's team won bronze in Doha.

凭借战胜世界排名第 46 位的柳泰彬，罗志祥成为首位晋级奥运会羽毛球单打决赛的新加坡选手。

29岁的罗在周日击败印尼头号选手乔纳坦·克里斯蒂后，确保获得一枚具有历史意义的亚运会奖牌。

现在，他至少可以确保获得一枚银牌。

罗将在9月29日的金牌争夺战中对阵泰国世界排名第二的昆拉武特·维提萨恩。

新加坡此前唯一一次在亚运会上获得羽毛球奖牌是在 2006 年多哈亚运会上，当时新加坡女子羽毛球队获得铜牌。
