Fugitive arrested after fatal Gunma stabbing

GUNMA (TR) – Gunma Prefectural Police have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder following a nationwide manhunt , days after his ex-wife’s mother was found stabbed to death inside her home in Ota City, reports TV Asahi (Sep. 27).

Riki Mihara was taken into custody at 2:28 p.m. on Sunday at a pachinko parlor near Takasaki Station, approximately 40 kilometers from the crime scene. According to investigative sources, Mihara was sitting in a chair but not playing pachinko when officers approached him. He surrendered to investigators without resistance.

The charges stem from a bloody encounter shortly after noon on September 25. According to police, Mihara’s ex-wife and her 26-year-old brother returned to their family home in Ota City and walked in on Mihara inside the residence. Mihara then allegedly slashed his former brother-in-law with a bladed weapon.

Inside the home, the siblings discovered their mother, 52-year-old Yuka Tezuka, collapsed on the floor. She was later confirmed dead.

An autopsy revealed Tezuka died from hemorrhagic shock. She had sustained more than a dozen stab and slash wounds across her entire body, including her chest, stomach, and limbs.

Investigative sources revealed that Mihara had been relentlessly pressuring his ex-wife to reconcile after their divorce. The ex-wife had previously consulted police regarding domestic violence, warning them of a chilling threat Mihara had made: “I’ll kill your mother and brother, and then kill myself.”

Tragically, just one day before the fatal attack, police had advised the ex-wife, “It is better if you do not return to your parents’ house.” However, she reportedly told officers, “There are family circumstances, so it’s fine,” prompting police to only issue standard crime prevention guidance.

While Mihara was initially arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of the brother, police are currently transferring him to a local police station to investigate his movements following the incident and his suspected role in the brutal murder of his former mother-in-law.

周日下午2点28分，警方在距离案发现场约40公里、靠近高崎站的一家弹珠机店逮捕了三原力。据调查人员透露，警方接近三原时，他正坐在椅子上，但并未玩弹珠机。他没有反抗，便向调查人员投降了。

这些指控源于9月25日中午刚过发生的一起血腥冲突。据警方称，三原的前妻和她26岁的弟弟回到位于大田市的家中，撞见三原在屋内。随后，三原涉嫌用刀具砍伤了他的前妻弟。

在家中，兄妹俩发现他们52岁的母亲手塚由香倒在地上。随后，她被确认死亡。

尸检结果显示，手冢死于出血性休克。她全身多处有刺伤和割伤，包括胸部、腹部和四肢。

调查人员透露，三原在离婚后一直不断向其前妻施压，试图让她与自己复合。此前，前妻曾就家庭暴力问题向警方咨询，并警告警方三原曾发出令人不寒而栗的威胁：“我会杀了你的母亲和兄弟，然后自杀。”

令人痛心的是，就在致命袭击发生的前一天，警方曾建议这位前妻“最好不要回父母家”。然而，据报道，她告诉警方“家里有特殊情况，所以没关系”，因此警方只发布了标准的犯罪预防指导。

虽然三原最初因涉嫌谋杀未遂其兄长而被捕，但警方目前正在将其移送至当地警察局，以调查其在事件发生后的行踪以及其涉嫌参与残忍杀害前岳母一案。
