OSAKA (TR) – Police in Osaka City are searching for two men who assaulted and robbed an intoxicated man of 1 million yen in cash early on Thursday, reports Nippon News Network (Sep. 24).

At around 4:00 a.m., the victim was heading home but stopped to rest on a curb because he was heavily intoxicated. Two men approached him in the street and asked, “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, leave me alone,” the man replied.

The pair then suddenly shoved the man to the ground, snatching his bag and his shoes before fleeing the scene. According to police, the stolen bag contained a wallet holding 1 million yen in cash.

The victim, who sustained a minor scrape to his left elbow, rushed into a nearby convenience store to seek help. “My bag was taken, please tell the police,” he pleaded to the clerk, who immediately alerted authorities.

Police have launched a manhunt for the two suspects and are investigating the incident as a robbery resulting in injury. One of the fleeing men is described as having black hair, while his accomplice was wearing a cap.
