In a weather update issued at 2.40pm, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said moderate to heavy thundery showers with gusty winds are expected over the northern, western and central areas of Singapore between 3pm and 3.45pm.
Separately, Singapore's national water agency, PUB, said on its Telegram channel at about 3.13pm that a flash flood had occurred at Riverside Road in Woodlands.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the next hour.
In its fortnightly weather forecast issued on Sept 16 , NEA had said localised short-duration thundery showers are expected between the late morning and afternoon over most parts of the island on most days.
