Esso kicks off second day of petrol price adjustments

Petrol prices in Singapore rose for a second consecutive day on Wednesday (Sept 30), with Esso kicking off the latest round of price adjustments.

In a price board update posted at its stations on Wednesday afternoon, Chandra Asri-owned Esso announced a 5-cent increase across its petrol offerings while keeping its diesel price unchanged.

This mirrors the adjustments posted by Shell and Caltex on Tuesday .

Following the latest round of increments, the price of the more popular 95-octane petrol at the five major fuel companies now ranges from $3.48 at SPC, to $3.54 at Caltex, Esso and Shell.

Prices are correct as at 7.45pm on Sept 30. All prices are before discounts.

*Indicates change to posted price(s) made on Sept 30.

Meanwhile, Union Gas-owned Cnergy and Smart Group's Smart Energy priced their respective 95-octane at $2.64 and $2.62 respectively.

Oil prices rose on Wednesday as US-Iran talks aimed at ending the war stalled and tight fuel markets continued to underpin prices despite recovering Middle East crude supplies.

At 7.40pm, Brent futures November contract, which expires on Wednesday, was at US$103.27 (S$131.86) per barrel.

Brent is headed for a monthly gain of about 14 per cent, its biggest since July.
