It's going to get drier and warmer over the next two weeks, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said in its fortnightly update on Thursday (Oct 1).

The weatherman said that the first two weeks of October will likely be drier than the past fortnight, with fair and warm conditions expected on several days, especially in the first week of October.

However, thundery showers are forecast over parts of the country in the late morning and afternoon on some days.

"The total rainfall for the first fortnight of October 2026 is forecast to be below average over most parts of the island," MSS said.

Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to range between 34 and 35 deg C, and could slightly exceed 35 deg C on a few days.

It also forecast warm and humid conditions on some nights, with minimum temperatures remaining above 27 deg C.

Warm weather in second half of October

Singapore experienced localised short-duration thundery showers over parts of the island on several days during the second fortnight of September.

On a few days, there were widespread moderate to heavy thundery showers.

Almost all parts of the city state experienced above-average rainfall during the said period, with only the area around Jurong West recording below-average rainfall.

The highest rainfall was 130.6mm near Rifle Range Road on Sept 2, when regional wind convergence brought heavy thundery showers over many areas of Singapore in the afternoon.

Over the past two weeks, daily maximum temperatures exceeded 34 deg C on most days, with the highest daily temperature of 35.8 deg C recorded at Woodlands on Sept 26.

Nights also remained warm, with minimum temperature staying above 27 deg C over many parts of the island on several nights.
