Driver smashes through multiple cones along CTE tunnel, has near miss with road works

A vehicle was seen blasting through multiple safety cones set up along the first lane in the Central Expressway (CTE) tunnel, according to a video uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page around midnight on Friday (Sep 4).

The video has since garnered over 100,000 views as at Saturday morning.

In the video, a speeding white Volkswagen can be seen driving past other motorists on the rightmost lane of CTE.

But the driver soon encounters a problem — work is going on in the lane.

Slamming the brakes, the driver slows down, but not before running over at least five cones before swerving hard to the left to avoid collision with a stationary heavy vehicle.

But the cone carnage doesn't stop there — the driver continues driving along the line of cones, knocking over more of the safety device.

A worker can be seen walking towards the vehicle, possibly in shock at the incident.

The video ends as the driver switches lanes and appears to drive off.

In comments, many users poked fun at the incident, comparing it to driving games.

"Managed to avoid collision and continue with the cones like bowling," said one.

Another quipped: "He thinks he's collecting coins like in a game."

A user also chimed in: "Only he can see his points he gets after 'getting' those cones."

"Those cones are not power-ups, bro," chided another.
