Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will join Fox News as an on-air contributor next month, weeks after stepping down from her prior role to spend more time focusing on her family.

Fox News said in a statement that Leavitt “will provide political analysis and commentary” across Fox platforms in her new role, which begins November 1. Leavitt added in a statement provided by Fox that she would bring “the same energy and candor that defied my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms.”

Leavitt, who hails from Atkinson, New Hampshire, moved back to the Granite State with her husband and two young children, a source familiar told CNN. The Fox News release also noted her move. The network agreed to build a studio in her home, the source added.

She formerly resided in the Naval Observatory in Washington with her family as press secretary.

Trump announced on August 12 that Leavitt was leaving the White House, and he has yet to name a replacement . The last press briefing was on September 3, led by Vice President JD Vance. When Leavitt was on maternity leave earlier in the year, Vance and other Cabinet officials hosted briefings on a rotating basis.

Trump told reporters at the White House on Thursday, “We have a lot of people who want that job. I would say many of them are right here,” pointing at Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy.

When asked who he’s looking for, Trump joked: “Maybe a guy like Peter.”

Leavitt said she left her role as press secretary to devote more time to her two young children, something she said was difficult to achieve in a top post at the White House.

She remains in the president’s orbit, however, working at the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. super PAC. Leavitt recently spoke at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas and helped host the AI-powered America.gov website launch last week in DC. In recent weeks, Leavitt appeared on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s show and podcast.

Another former Trump White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, joined Fox News after her tenure at the podium during the preisdent’s first term.
