A 19-year-old without a valid licence died in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car on Jalan Sepang/Salak.

The victim collided with another motorcycle and was then run over by a passing car.

The case is under investigation for reckless driving, and witnesses are urged to contact the authorities.

SEPANG, Oct 6 — A 19-year-old girl was killed after the motorcycle she was riding was involved in a collision with another motorcycle and a car on Jalan Sepang/Salak at about 8.20pm yesterday.

Sepang police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman said the victim, who was riding a blue Honda C100, was believed to have collided with a black Honda C100 motorcycle travelling from Sungai Pelek towards Nilai.

“The black motorcycle is believed to have collided with the blue motorcycle, which at that time was travelling against the flow of traffic in the left lane of the same road. Following the collision, the woman was thrown off her motorcycle and landed in the right lane before she was believed to have been run over by a grey Proton Saga Iswara travelling straight in the right lane.

“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by an assistant medical officer. The victim worked at a cattle farm in the Sepang area and did not possess a valid driving licence,” he said in a statement today.

Norhizam said the rider of the black motorcycle was an Indian national who worked as a cook at an eatery and was also found not to have a valid driving licence.

Meanwhile, the car driver, a man in his 20s, works as a food and beverage sector supervisor and holds a valid driving licence.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving resulting in death.

Norhizam urged those who witnessed the incident or have any information related to the case to visit any nearby police station or to contact investigating officer Insp Mohamad Fadzil Zainol Abidin at 019-5588221 or 03-87774264.

He also advised the public against making any speculation regarding the incident to avoid interfering with police investigation. — Bernama
