Felda’s outstanding government-guaranteed loans stand at RM5.88b, says MOF

The outstanding government-guaranteed loans for Felda were RM5.88 billion as of September 2026, following principal repayments of RM3.04 billion.

The government approved RM9.9 billion in guarantees for Felda, with RM8.92 billion obtained and RM980 million in sukuk pending issuance.

An annual RM990 million grant for 10 years was agreed by the government to cover sukuk principal repayments.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — The total outstanding government-guaranteed loans for the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) stood at RM5.88 billion as of September 30, 2026, after accounting for principal repayments totalling RM3.04 billion, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The ministry said the government had approved guarantees totaling RM9.9 billion for Felda to secure financing from local financial institutions and the capital market to fund projects, investments, and the Felda Recovery Plan.

“Of the total approved guarantees, Felda has obtained government-guaranteed financing amounting to RM8.92 billion, while RM980 million worth of government-guaranteed sukuk remains to be issued,” the ministry said.

The MOF said this in a written reply to a question from Azli Yusof (PH-Shah Alam) on the leakage of public funds and updates on efforts to recover state assets linked to financial scandals.

The ministry said the government had also agreed to provide an annual grant of RM990 million for 10 years to meet the annual principal repayments on the sukuk. — Bernama
