自1月1日起,全国范围内只有经陆路交通局(JPJ)批准的中介机构才能在柜台办理客户交易。

Starting January 1, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will only allow registered and approved intermediaries to conduct transactions on behalf of customers at all JPJ offices in Malaysia.

Registration opens on November 1 via an online platform, with each intermediary receiving a digital identification valid for two years.

JPJ clarified that it neither endorses nor guarantees the services of the intermediaries and advises the public to use official JPJ channels to avoid risks.

Additionally, JPJ unveiled upgrades to the Perlis office aimed at improving the customer and staff experience.

ARAU, Oct 12 — Only individuals or company representatives registered as intermediaries and approved by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will be allowed to conduct transactions on behalf of customers at all JPJ offices and branches nationwide from January 1.

JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the requirement was aimed at regulating intermediary services more systematically, transparently and with integrity.

He said registration as a JPJ-approved intermediary would open on November 1 through an online platform provided by the department.

“Each approved registered intermediary will be issued an official digital identification document bearing a serial number, valid for two years, subject to the department’s terms and regulations,” he told a press conference after inspecting the newly upgraded Perlis JPJ office counters here today.

Aedy Fadly said the implementation did not mean that JPJ had any ties, cooperation or business relationship with any registered intermediary. Registration approval also did not constitute JPJ’s endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of the services offered by the intermediary.

“JPJ will also not be responsible for any losses, fraud, additional charges or disputes arising from private transactions between customers and registered intermediaries.

“In this regard, the public is advised to remain vigilant and prioritise the department’s official channels, such as the MyJPJ application, the JPJ Public Portal, service counters and other official channels provided, to avoid any unwanted risks,” he said.

Aedy Fadly said the initiative reflected JPJ’s continued commitment to strengthening integrity, transparency and service delivery efficiency, while ensuring that customers’ interests remained a priority.

On the upgraded Perlis JPJ counters, he said the office now had a more modern, orderly and conducive environment following upgrading works under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), which were completed in five months against the target of six months.

Aedy Fadly said the improvements were expected to benefit about 400 customers who visited the office daily, while providing staff with a more organised and comfortable working environment. — Bernama
