Remembering 9/11: Support first responders and affected families

The events of September 11, 2001, claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans and altered the lives of their families, as well as the first responders, recovery workers, and witnesses who survived that day.

For 25 years, charities have distributed funds to help the families impacted by 9/11 and offer assistance for the rescue teams facing health issues. They have provided financial support, covered medical expenses, and offered mentoring and scholarships for children nationwide.

The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund distributes financial aid to children of 9/11 victims and rescue responders.

The FealGood Foundation provides advocacy and support for 9/11 responders who are now dealing with catastrophic health issues.

The Leary Firefighters Foundation helps fire departments receive training and buy new equipment.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation provides homes and scholarships for families of veterans and first responders who lost their lives as well as those who’ve suffered catastrophic injuries.

Tuesday’s Promise supports youth and families impacted by 9/11, and the post-9/11 Military Families of the Fallen, who have suffered losses as a ripple effect of the 9/11 tragedy.
