A drunken woman stripped naked, staggered into traffic and attacked police with a liquor bottle during a late-night rampage in central Pattaya on Tuesday. The chaos unfolded outside a Soi 15 convenience store shortly after 10 pm, prompting a frightened 16-year-old girl to call police. However, officers faced a violent confrontation when they tried to cover the woman and restrain her. She reportedly struck an officer with the bottle and splashed liquid over others, leaving minor injuries. Channel 7 footage captured the struggle before police finally overpowered her and took her into custody for her safety and protection. Meanwhile, the woman continued shouting and could not identify herself. Police are now investigating possible assault and public indecency charges.

A drunken woman stripped naked on a busy Pattaya street on Tuesday night before attacking police officers with a liquor bottle. The confrontation unfolded outside a convenience store in Soi 15, Central Pattaya, shortly after 10 pm on 20 October.

A frightened 16-year-old girl called police after witnessing the woman shouting, undressing and walking into the road. However, the situation turned violent when officers attempted to intervene. The woman reportedly struck an officer with the bottle and splashed liquid over responding police.

Officers sustained minor injuries before eventually restraining her and taking her into custody. Despite repeated questioning, police could not establish her identity because of her intoxication. Investigators are examining possible assault and public indecency offences.

Pattaya police respond to reports of a naked woman causing a disturbance outside a convenience store

Police Sergeant Thakoon Aphaiphan received the emergency report at approximately 10 pm on Tuesday. He was serving with the crime prevention and suppression patrol unit at Pattaya City Police Station.

The incident occurred in Soi 15, Pattaya Central, Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. According to the initial report, a heavily intoxicated woman was walking naked in the street and causing a disturbance. In response, Sergeant Thakoon travelled to the location with other patrol officers.

On arrival, police encountered the woman shouting outside a convenience store while holding a bottle of liquor. She had already removed her clothing and wandered into the middle of the road.

Meanwhile, pedestrians and motorists were passing through the area as the disturbance continued. Officers approached the woman and attempted to calm her down. Initially, they tried to persuade her to cover herself and put her clothes back on. They also attempted to establish what had happened and secure her cooperation.

However, the woman refused to follow police instructions and continued shouting. Within moments, the confrontation escalated as she turned against the responding officers. Still clutching the liquor bottle, she began swinging it towards police attempting to restrain her.

During the struggle, she reportedly struck an officer with the bottle. Furthermore, the woman threw liquid at officers trying to control the situation. One account described water being thrown, while another reported alcohol being splashed over an officer.

The confrontation left officers with minor injuries, according to local reports. Nevertheless, police continued trying to restrain the woman as she resisted their efforts. She also refused to leave the area and reportedly denied wrongdoing.

By this stage, officers were struggling to bring the disturbance under control. Footage subsequently broadcast by Channel 7 showed two police officers attempting to restrain her. The woman continued resisting as they tried to secure her cooperation.

Separately, Chon Buri News reported that officers spent considerable time attempting to control the woman. Their initial efforts to calm her had failed, while attempts to cover her body met further resistance.

Eventually, police managed to restrain her and get her dressed. They then escorted her away from the convenience store and took her to Pattaya City Police Station. Although officers reportedly suffered minor injuries, there were no reports of serious injuries.

Teenage witness describes how drunken woman stripped naked and walked into the road in central Pattaya

The incident began when 16-year-old Ms Kamolchanok Phra-arak went out to buy food. She encountered the intoxicated woman near the convenience store and witnessed the disturbance unfolding.

According to her account, the woman was shouting and walking around the street. At first, she appeared heavily intoxicated as she moved through the area. However, her behaviour became more disturbing when she began removing her clothing in front of passersby.

First, the woman removed her shirt, exposing her breasts to people nearby. She then took off her trousers and continued walking around the street. Shortly afterwards, she moved into the middle of the road while continuing to shout.

At the same time, pedestrians and passing vehicles were using the area. Ms Kamolchanok said she was frightened by the woman’s behaviour. Moreover, she feared the woman could endanger herself or other people nearby. Consequently, the teenager contacted police and requested immediate assistance.

Her call brought Sergeant Thakoon and the patrol team to the scene. Yet the arrival of police did not end the disturbance. Instead, the woman became aggressive when officers attempted to calm her and provide clothing. She refused their instructions and continued shouting. The liquor bottle she was carrying then became central to the confrontation. As officers attempted to restrain her, she reportedly struck one of them with the bottle.

Police take unidentified woman into custody as investigators probe assault and public indecency

In addition, the woman splashed liquid over officers trying to bring her under control. Reports differed on whether the liquid was water or alcohol. The confrontation continued as police attempted to prevent further attacks and remove her from the street.

Despite their efforts, the woman refused to cooperate and resisted being taken away. Ultimately, officers managed to restrain her, get her dressed and escort her to the police station.

Following her arrest, police attempted to establish the woman’s identity and obtain her personal details. However, officers encountered immediate difficulties because she remained heavily intoxicated. She continued shouting and could not communicate effectively with investigators. As a result, police were unable to obtain her name or establish her nationality and age. Officers therefore kept her in custody while waiting for her to sober up.

Investigators intended to question the woman once she could communicate and provide her personal information. Meanwhile, police began examining the circumstances surrounding the public disturbance and the confrontation with responding officers. The inquiry will include her actions while naked in the street.

In particular, investigators will examine the reported assault involving the liquor bottle. They will also consider accounts of liquid being thrown at officers during the struggle.

Minor injuries reported as police review assault footage and consider charges after Pattaya disturbance

The reported injuries to police form another part of the investigation. Local accounts indicated that officers suffered minor injuries during the confrontation. However, the precise nature of those injuries was not disclosed.

Nor had police confirmed whether the injured officer intended to pursue a formal complaint. Investigators were also examining potential offences involving public indecency and assault. Nevertheless, no formal charges had been confirmed in the initial reports.

The incident subsequently attracted attention after footage of the confrontation appeared on television. Channel 7 broadcast images showing two officers struggling to restrain the woman outside the convenience store.

Meanwhile, Chon Buri News reported the difficulties police faced during the intervention. The coverage described her refusal to cooperate, continued shouting and resistance to police instructions. In parallel, the teenage witness provided an account of the events before officers arrived.

Teenage witness and police reports establish events before arrest as woman remains unidentified in Pattaya

Ms Kamolchanok’s account placed the woman outside the convenience store before she removed her clothing. The teenager described seeing her strip naked and move into the road. Subsequently, police arrived and attempted to calm her before the confrontation turned violent.

The witness’s account and the police reports established the sequence leading to the woman’s arrest. However, investigators had yet to obtain a coherent account from the woman herself.

The woman’s identity remained unknown in the initial reports issued after Tuesday night’s incident. Likewise, police had not confirmed her nationality, age or any formal charges. The inquiry was continuing into the reported assault and public disturbance.

Officers intended to question her further after her intoxication subsided. By the end of the confrontation, police had removed her from the street and taken her into custody. Further legal action remained subject to the investigation at Pattaya City Police Station.
