TuJu, developed by LLM and Prosignal Consortium, offers navigation and highway services, aiming to replace Waze with a focus on Malaysian highways.
The app provides live traffic updates, CCTV feeds, toll information, and links to the MyJalan platform for reporting road issues.
TuJu 2.0 introduces features like electric vehicle facilities and parking location save, with a payment system planned for future toll fare payments.
SEPANG, Oct 22 — As the government encourages Malaysians to consider switching from Waze to locally developed navigation applications, TuJu offers motorists an alternative that combines navigation with live traffic information and highway-related services.
Developed by the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) in collaboration with Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd (PCSB), TuJu was officially launched on November 26, 2025.
Unlike conventional navigation applications that focus primarily on directions and traffic conditions, TuJu also incorporates services specific to Malaysian highways.
Here is what motorists should know about the application.
TuJu was developed through a collaboration between LLM and PCSB.
LLM oversees Malaysia’s highway network, providing the institutional context for an application designed to bring navigation and highway-related information together for motorists.
TuJu provides navigation with directions, journey distances and estimated arrival times to help motorists plan their routes.
Its live traffic information allows users to monitor road conditions, while CCTV feeds at selected highway locations let them check traffic visually before or during their journeys.
Motorists can also check toll fares and look up facilities at rest and recreation (R&R) areas along highways to plan stops during longer journeys.
The application also links to the Works Ministry’s MyJalan platform, which allows users to report road damage and other infrastructure problems.
How does TuJu differ from other navigation apps?
TuJu brings navigation together with services linked to highway management and government infrastructure.
Its SOS button provides another avenue for users to seek emergency assistance, complementing the highway-related contact information available through the application.
These functions, alongside its integration with MyJalan, distinguish TuJu as a navigation option that incorporates highway-related services beyond route guidance.
LLM to be a traffic information provider
According to LLM deputy director-general (operations) Mohammed Ridzuan Jahidin, TuJu focuses on providing traffic info, not collecting user data.
The focus, he said, is on supplying motorists with live traffic information instead of depending on data contributed by users.
The approach is relevant amid concerns over personal data collection and the government’s encouragement for Malaysians to consider locally developed alternatives to Waze.
What new features are available on TuJu 2.0?
According to details provided during an earlier briefing, TuJu 2.0 introduces additional features, including information on electric vehicle-related facilities, roadblocks and saved destinations.
Users can save frequently visited locations and identify where they have parked their vehicles, including in large parking areas.
TuJu 2.0 is currently available on Android, while the iOS version was still undergoing testing and will likely be available on App Store by year-end.
What else is LLM planning for TuJu?
Mohammed Ridzuan said LLM hoped to incorporate a payment system into the application to make it easier for motorists to pay toll fares.
The proposed addition would expand TuJu’s existing services, although further details on its implementation were not provided.
