A woman has spoken about allegedly being molested while out at the Singapore Night Festival , saying it was not the first time she had experienced unwanted touching in public.
In a TikTok video posted on Sunday (Sept 6) by user har_niy, the woman recounted an incident during the festival, saying she had been standing with her friends while waiting for a traffic light.
"My behind just got swiped," she said.
She added that there was "plenty of space" behind her for people to walk past.
When she turned around, she said she saw an uncle walking away from her, she claimed.
The woman said the incident was not isolated, adding that similar incidents had happened to her "multiple times".
The festival, held in the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, ran across three weekends from Aug 21 to Sept 5.
'Not a one-time thing'
She recalled another incident that occurred when she had gone out on National Day with her family and relatives, adding that her friends had witnessed such incidents on multiple occasions.
"It is not a one-time thing," she said. However, she did not elaborate on what occurred during those incidents.
The woman also questioned how victims could identify or report perpetrators, pointing to anti-molestation posters she had seen at MRT stations and on trains encouraging victims to reach out to the police.
"But it happens so frequently, I don't even know how these people could get caught," she said.
She said the latest incident occurred "in the middle of the road" and questioned what evidence a victim could provide in such situations.
"What am I supposed to say? 'Oh, there's a CCTV watching you, you can see it clearly?' No, you can't," she said.
"It's literally based off of my words versus that person's."
The repeated experiences have also affected how she feels about going out, she said.
The woman claimed she had become increasingly isolated as a result and had barely gone out over the past year.
"More often than not, when I go out, these kinds of things happen to me," she said. "I literally just exist. I stand there and I get swiped."
Molestation cases up 7 per cent in 2025
Police figures showed that reported molestation cases rose 7.3 per cent in 2025 , with 1,531 cases recorded compared with 1,427 the year before.
Of the cases reported last year, 372 occurred in residential premises, 164 on public transport and 115 at public entertainment outlets. More than half involved offenders known to the victims, police said.

她说，最近这起事件发生在“马路中间”，并质疑在这种情况下受害者能提供什么证据。
“我该怎么说呢？‘哦，有监控摄像头在监视你，你看得清清楚楚吗？’不，你看不清，”她说。
“这完全是基于我的话和那个人的话之间的对比。”
她说，反复的经历也影响了她对外出的看法。
该女子声称，因此她变得越来越孤僻，过去一年几乎没有出门。
“我出门的时候，十有八九都会遇到这种事，”她说。“我就好像只是站在那里，然后就被人抢劫了。”
2025年性骚扰案件预计增加7%
警方数据显示，2025 年报告的性骚扰案件增加了 7.3%，记录在案的案件数量为 1531 起，而前一年为 1427 起。
