71-year-old man found dead at foot of Punggol HDB block

A 71-year-old man was found dead at the foot of a HDB block in Punggol on Monday (Sept 7) afternoon.

The incident happened at about 4.05pm at Block 126B Edgedale Plains.

When AsiaOne arrived at the scene at about 7.50pm, there were at least three police fast response cars and a crime scene investigation van present.

A police cordon extended across the ground floor area below two stacks of flats and the driveway in front of it, with a blue tent placed near the edge of a pavement in front of the block.

AsiaOne understands that the elderly man fell from one of the upper floors.

Police told AsiaOne that he was found lying motionless at the foot of the block and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic.

They confirmed that he had fallen from height, adding that no foul play is suspected based on preliminary investigations.

Police investigations are ongoing.
