KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) chairman Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz has poked fun at Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, asking whether he was more nervous about exchanging wedding vows with actress Bella Astillah or signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government.
In an Instagram post yesterday, Tengku Zafrul said he had posed the question to Syed Saddiq, drawing a humorous comparison between the two commitments.
“One is a promise to build a future together with a partner, while the other is a commitment to the future of Muar residents,” he wrote.
The post followed the Madani government’s signing of an MoU with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and several other opposition MPs, including Syed Saddiq.
Tengku Zafrul, who is also Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s senior political adviser, said the MPs would remain in the opposition despite agreeing to support the Budget and key institutional reforms.
He added that their respective constituencies would receive equivalent allocations for the benefit of the people.
“In politics, we do not necessarily have to agree on everything. But when it comes to the interests of the people, we must be able to work together,” he said.

吉隆坡，10月30日 - 马来西亚投资发展局（Mida）主席拿督斯里东姑扎夫鲁阿卜杜勒阿齐兹（Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz）取笑麻坡国会议员赛沙迪克赛义德阿卜杜勒拉曼（Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman），询问他是否对与女演员贝拉阿斯提拉（Bella Astillah）交换结婚誓言或与政府签署谅解备忘录（MoU）更紧张。
昨天，东姑扎夫鲁在 Instagram 上发帖称，他已向赛义德·萨迪克提出了这个问题，并对这两项承诺进行了幽默的比较。
他写道：“一个是与合作伙伴共同建设未来的承诺，另一个是对麻坡居民未来的承诺。”

同时也是首相拿督斯里安华·易卜拉欣高级政治顾问的东姑扎夫鲁表示，尽管国会议员们同意支持预算案和关键的体制改革，但他们仍将留在反对派阵营。
他还补充说，他们各自的选区将获得同等数额的拨款，以造福人民。
他说：“在政治上，我们不一定非要在所有事情上都达成一致。但当事关人民利益时，我们必须能够携手合作。”
