It's good to have a familiar face by your side when working in a foreign land.

Local actors Chantalle Ng and Zhang Zetong were in Taiwan a few months ago to film for fantasy-romance drama My Cosmic Love , a joint production between Mediacorp and Taiwanese production company Mission International.

In an Instagram video posted by their management company The Celebrity Agency on Thursday (Oct 29), the 31-year-old actress said that it was the first time she had been "away from home for so long", but that she was glad she was there with Zetong.

"At least I have support, you know?"

But while filming in Taiwan, Chantalle found herself "feeling extra miserable" and coming down with a fever.

She tried to get paracetamol delivered through food delivery but found out that the medication was controlled and she had to be physically present at the pharmacy to get it.

"So I just texted Zetong and I asked, 'Do you have Panadol with you?'" she continued. "In less than five minutes, he was at my doorstep with more than just Panadol."

The Malaysia-born actor also brought with him Chantalle's favourite chocolate and vitamin C supplements.

"I just ugly-cried after he left because I just felt so loved and thankful that he was there with me," she added.

"It is a very new experience and I do feel very... isolated at times, but I also find myself receiving a lot of love and warmth from the people around me."

In response, Zetong, 33, just commented: "Next time, go drink more hot water."

My Cosmic Love, starring Taiwanese actors Rhydian Vaughan and Vicky Tseng, tells the story of Sugar46, an alien who takes over a young man's body and accidentally becomes a male escort. While searching for the perfect partner, he learns that real love is about trust and connection, making him question what he truly wants.

Chantalle and Zetong play supporting roles as police officers patrolling the city's nightlife scene but also get embroiled in a romantic relationship.

Mission International is helmed by TV and film producer Angie Chai, who's known for creating the 2001 Taiwan hit drama series Meteor Garden and its 2018 China remake, launching the careers of Jerry Yan, Vic Chou and Dylan Wang .
