Scoot retimes flights between Singapore and Indonesia, increases capacity on some flights

Budget carrier Scoot retimed six flights between Singapore and Indonesia.

Scoot has retimed six flights between Singapore and Indonesia on Sept 8 due to volcanic eruptions at Mount Anak Krakatau affecting flight schedules.

The airline increased capacity on some Jakarta flights on Sept 9 and is offering rebooking or refunds to affected customers.

Jakarta's airport and others near Java have resumed operations after weekend closures caused by ash, disrupting nearly 3,000 flights and stranding over 340,000 passengers.

SINGAPORE – Budget carrier Scoot has retimed flights between Singapore and Indonesia on Sept 8, and has also increased capacity on some flights departing on Sept 9 .

Flights departing and arriving in Indonesia are being impacted by volcanic activity, caused by eruptions of Mount Anak Krakatau , which started on Sept 4.

In its advisory on Sept 8 , the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines said it retimed six Sept 8 flights between Singapore and Jakarta as well as Kertajati.

The following are the retimed flights between Singapore and Jakarta (all times local):

TR274 , originally scheduled to depart Singapore at 6.50am , will now depart at 1pm .

TR276 , originally scheduled to depart Singapore at 9am , will now depart at 3pm .

TR275 , originally scheduled to depart Jakarta at 9.35am , will now depart at 3.45pm .

TR277 , originally scheduled to depart Jakarta at 11.55am , will now depart at 5.55pm .

Meanwhile, the retimed flights between Singapore and Kertajati are as follows (all times local):

TR298 , originally scheduled to depart Singapore at 4.55am , will now depart at 11am .

TR299 , originally scheduled to depart Kertajati at 7.35am , will now depart at 1.40pm .

Kertajati is located in the Majalengka Regency, in West Java , about 180km away from Jakarta.

In its advisory, Scoot also said it has increased capacity on some flights to and from Jakarta on Sept 9 .

All other flights are operating as scheduled.

The airline said it has reached out to affected customers to inform them of the changes to their flights.

Affected customers may rebook alternative Scoot flights between Singapore and Indonesia. Those who decide not to proceed with their travel plans may also request a full refund.

Customers who need help with rebooking may also contact Scoot at the designated hotline numbers based on the city they are calling from.

For bookings made through travel agents or partner airlines, customers are advised to contact their travel agent or purchasing airline directly for help.

“Scoot apologises for the inconvenience caused. The safety of our customers and crew is our top priority,” said the airline .

“We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our flight schedule as necessary.”

Earlier on Sept 8, Singapore Airlines said it retimed six flights and added eight relief flights between Singapore and Jakarta.

Eight airports, including Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, halted operations over the weekend after ash was detected in their airspace, disrupting nearly 3,000 flights and leaving more than 340,000 passengers stranded.

However, early on Sept 8, Indonesia’s transport ministry said the Jakarta airport and four others near the city or around the island of Java are operating again.

TR274航班原定于早上6点50分从新加坡起飞，现改为下午1点起飞。

TR276航班原定于上午9点从新加坡起飞，现改为下午3点起飞。

TR275航班原定于上午9点35分从雅加达起飞，现改为下午3点45分起飞。

TR277航班原定于上午11点55分从雅加达起飞，现改为下午5点55分起飞。

与此同时，新加坡和克尔塔贾蒂之间的航班时刻调整如下（均为当地时间）：

TR298航班原定于凌晨4点55分从新加坡起飞，现改为上午11点起飞。

TR299 航班原定于早上 7:35 从 Kertajati 出发，现改为下午 1:40 出发。

Kertajati 位于西爪哇省马加伦卡县，距离雅加达约 180 公里。

酷航在其公告中还表示，已于 9 月 9 日增加了部分往返雅加达航班的运力。

其他航班均按计划运营。

该航空公司表示，已联系受影响的乘客，告知他们航班变更情况。

受影响的乘客可以改签酷航新加坡至印尼的其他航班。决定取消行程的乘客也可以申请全额退款。

需要重新预订的乘客也可以根据其所在城市拨打指定的热线电话联系酷航。

对于通过旅行社或合作航空公司预订的机票，建议客户直接联系其旅行社或购买机票的航空公司寻求帮助。

“酷航对由此造成的不便深表歉意。乘客和机组人员的安全是我们的首要任务。”该航空公司表示。

“我们将继续关注事态发展，并根据需要调整航班时刻表。”

9月8日早些时候，新加坡航空公司表示，已调整了新加坡和雅加达之间六个航班的时间，并增加了八个救援航班。

包括雅加达苏加诺-哈达国际机场在内的八个机场在周末因空域内检测到火山灰而停止运营，导致近 3000 个航班中断，超过 34 万名乘客滞留。

然而，9 月 8 日清晨，印尼交通部表示，雅加达机场以及该市附近或爪哇岛周围的其他四个机场已重新开放运营。
