Blue, orange CHAS card holders get 6% off at Sheng Siong outlets till Jan 1, up from 4%

The discount applies to blue CHAS card holders on Thursdays, and orange CHAS card holders on Fridays.

Sheng Siong has increased discounts for blue and orange CHAS card holders to 6% at all outlets until Jan 1, 2027, up from the previous 4% discount.

Blue CHAS card holders get discounts on Thursdays, orange card holders on Fridays, and senior citizens continue to receive 4% off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The discount excludes certain items and has a $200 daily spend cap; Sheng Siong aims to help lower-income families save on daily groceries.

SINGAPORE – Lower-income Singaporeans can now get 6 per cent off at all Sheng Siong outlets through Jan 1, 2027, up from 4 per cent previously.

In a statement on Sept 10, Sheng Siong said the discount will apply to blue and orange Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) card holders. Blue CHAS card holders can use the enhanced discount on Thursdays, while orange CHAS card holders can use it on Fridays.

Senior citizens will continue to get a 4 per cent discount when they shop at Sheng Siong on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The discounts apply to a maximum spend of $200 per receipt daily. They do not apply to stages one and two infant formula, tobacco, alcohol, disposable carrier bag charges, phone cards, Sheng Siong vouchers and Beverage Container Return Scheme refunds.

Those shopping on behalf of senior family members can present the senior’s physical identity card at checkout for the discount, while CHAS card holders may show a physical or digital card.

“We hope every small saving can help with daily household expenses,” Sheng Siong Group chief executive Lim Hock Chee said.

“After providing additional support through the 8 per cent CHAS discount in June, we wanted to continue doing a little more for our customers. We hope the 6 per cent discount will help them save a little more on their everyday groceries.”

Sheng Siong had doubled CHAS discounts from 4 to 8 per cent during the month of June.

The supermarket chain first introduced the discount scheme for blue CHAS card holders in March 2025 and orange CHAS card holders in January 2026. The scheme, which was slated to end in June, was extended to Dec 31.

In 2025, Sheng Siong provided about $7.5 million in savings to customers through its senior citizen and CHAS blue and orange discount schemes.

Households with a monthly income per person of between $1,501 to $2,300 are eligible to apply for the orange card. Households with a monthly income of up to $1,500 per person can apply for the blue card.

Earlier on Sept 2, supermarket giant FairPrice Group announced its own 6 per cent discount for blue and orange CHAS card holders from S ept 3 to Jan 1, 2027.

昇菘超市将蓝色和橙色 CHAS 卡持卡人的折扣提高至 6%，有效期至 2027 年 1 月 1 日，此前折扣为 4%。

蓝色 CHAS 卡持卡人周四可享受折扣，橙色卡持卡人周五可享受折扣，老年人周二和周三继续享受 4% 的折扣。

新加坡——从2027年1月1日起，新加坡低收入人群在所有昇菘超市门店购物可享受6%的折扣，高于之前的4%。

昇菘超市9月10日发表声明称，此次折扣活动将适用于持有蓝色和橙色社区健康援助计划（CHAS）卡的顾客。蓝色CHAS卡持有者可在周四享受此优惠，橙色CHAS卡持有者可在周五享受此优惠。

老年人每周二和周三在昇菘超市购物仍可享受 4% 的折扣。

折扣适用于每日每张收据最高200美元的消费。折扣不适用于婴儿配方奶粉（第一阶段和第二阶段）、烟草、酒精、一次性购物袋费用、电话卡、昇菘超市代金券以及饮料容器回收计划的退款。

代表老年家庭成员购物的人可以在结账时出示老年人的实体身份证件以享受折扣，而 CHAS 卡持有者可以出示实体卡或电子卡。

“我们希望每一分每一毫的节省都能帮助支付日常家庭开支，”昇菘集团首席执行官林福志表示。

“继六月份通过 8% 的 CHAS 折扣为顾客提供额外支持后，我们希望继续为顾客做得更多。我们希望这 6% 的折扣能帮助他们节省日常杂货开支。”

昇菘超市在六月份将顾客折扣从 4% 提高到 8%。

该连锁超市于 2025 年 3 月首次为蓝色 CHAS 卡持卡人推出折扣计划，并于 2026 年 1 月为橙色 CHAS 卡持卡人推出折扣计划。该计划原定于 6 月结束，后延长至 12 月 31 日。

2025年，昇菘超市通过其老年人和CHAS蓝橙折扣计划，为顾客节省了约750万美元。

家庭人均月收入在1501美元至2300美元之间的家庭有资格申请橙色卡。家庭人均月收入不超过1500美元的家庭可以申请蓝色卡。

9 月 2 日早些时候，超市巨头 FairPrice 集团宣布，从 2027 年 9 月 3 日至 2027 年 1 月 1 日，持有蓝色和橙色 CHAS 卡的顾客可享受 6% 的折扣。

社区健康援助计划
