Perak Assembly approves PKR chairman Mohamad Hairul as senator with 33 votes

The Perak Legislative Assembly approved Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri as a senator, with 33 votes against Perak PAS candidate Muhammad Zulkifli Muhammad Zakaria, who received 26 votes.

This election followed the conclusion of Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusuf Rawa's term in May.

Mohamad Hairul, a USM Political Science graduate, currently serves in the Office of Tambun MP and has held roles on the Perak Water Board and Panel International Bhd.

His nomination was led by Teja assemblyman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching and Lintang assemblyman Datuk Mohd Zolkfaly Haron.

IPOH, September 10 — The Perak Legislative Assembly today approved the appointment of Perak PKR chairman Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri as a senator after he secured 33 votes in a secret ballot.

The 38-year-old defeated Perak PAS Dewan Ulama chairman Muhammad Zulkifli Muhammad Zakaria, the Opposition coalition’s candidate, who received 26 votes.

The election was held following the expiry of former senator and Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusuf Rawa’s term on May 24.

A total of 59 votes were cast by members of the Legislative Assembly.

The motion for the appointment was tabled by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and supported by Teja assemblyman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching (PKR).

Mohamad Hairul’s nomination was proposed by Ng and seconded by Lintang assemblyman Datuk Mohd Zolkfaly Haron (BN).

A Perak native, Mohamad Hairul holds a degree in Political Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

He currently serves as chief special officer at the Office of Tambun MP, a position held by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

His previous appointments include serving on the Perak Water Board and as a non-executive and independent committee member of Panel International Bhd.

Mohamad Hairul has also served as Perak PKR chairman since 2024.

霹雳州立法议会以 33 票批准穆罕默德·海鲁·阿米尔·沙布里 (Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri) 为上议员，霹雳州伊党候选人穆罕默德·祖基菲里·穆罕默德·扎卡里亚 (Muhammad Zulkifli Muhammad Zakaria) 获得 26 票。

这次选举是在拿督斯里穆贾希德优素福拉瓦博士于五月结束任期之后进行的。

莫哈末·海鲁尔毕业于马来西亚理科大学政治学系，目前在淡汶国会议员办公室任职，曾任霹雳州水务局和国际集团有限公司的职务。

他的提名由Teja议员Sandrea Ng Shy Ching和Lintang议员Datuk Mohd Zolkfaly Haron领导。

怡保，9月10日讯——霹雳州立法议会今日批准任命霹雳州公正党主席莫哈末·海鲁·阿米尔·萨布里为上议院议员，他在秘密投票中获得33票。

38岁的他击败了霹雳州伊斯兰党下议院主席穆罕默德·祖基菲里·穆罕默德·扎卡里亚（反对党联盟候选人），后者获得26票。

这次选举是在前参议员兼霹雳州希望联盟主席拿督斯里慕贾希·优素福·拉瓦博士的任期于 5 月 24 日届满后举行的。

立法议会成员共投出 59 票。

这项任命动议由州务大臣拿督斯里沙拉尼提出，并得到德嘉州议员黄诗清（公正党）的支持。

莫哈末海鲁的提名是由黄提出，并得到临塘州议员拿督莫哈末佐克法利哈伦（国阵）附议。

Mohamad Hairul 是霹雳州人，拥有马来西亚理科大学 (USM) 政治学学位。

他目前担任淡汶国会议员办公室首席特别官员，该职位此前由首相拿督斯里安华·易卜拉欣担任。

他之前的任命包括担任霹雳州水务局委员和 Panel International Bhd 的非执行独立委员会成员。

Mohamad Hairul 自 2024 年起也担任霹雳州公正党主席。
