Heavy rain, strong winds expected across KL, Putrajaya and seven states until 6pm

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting areas in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and seven states until 6pm today.

The warning covers numerous localities across Kedah, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Selangor, and Pahang, as well as parts of Sabah, including the Interior and West Coast regions.

Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of the adverse weather conditions forecasted.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and seven states until 6pm today.

It said in a statement that the adverse weather is forecast to affect Kuala Muda, Baling, Sik, Yan and Langkawi in Kedah; Timur Laut, Barat Daya, Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang; and Kuala Pilah, Seremban, Jempol and Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan.

Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Larut Matang, Selama, Bagan Datuk, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Hulu Perak, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim in Perak; Sepang, Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Klang and Kuala Langat in Selangor, as well as Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Bera, Jerantut and Lipis in Pahang.

In Sabah, the affected areas are the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Keningau, Tambunan, Membakut, Beaufort and Sook), West Coast, Tawau (Kunak and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Kinabatangan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu). — Bernama
