Married AV actress Iyo Shinohara has full support of friends and sister in career path

TOKYO (TR) – A 32-year-old married mother who debuted as an adult video (AV) actress two years ago has revealed that while her husband remains completely in the dark about her career, she has the full backing of her younger sister and a loyal group of local “mom friends.”

Iyo Shinohara made her debut in the AV industry at the age of 30, openly billing herself as a married woman with a child. Despite the stigma often associated with the industry, Shinohara tells Spa! (Aug. 20). her private support network functions like a “one team” unit to keep her career afloat.

“It’s been about a year and a half since my debut, and I am truly happy every day to have a job where I can still discover and learn new things as an adult,” Shinohara said in a recent interview. “My husband still doesn’t know, though.”

“I wanted to stand on center stage”

A former model in her early twenties, Shinohara stepped away from the public eye after marrying at 27 and becoming a housewife. She said the transition caused her to drift away from fashion and makeup, leaving her feeling as though her life as a woman had reached a premature end.

Approaching her 30th birthday, she decided to make a drastic change. “I wanted to stand on center stage again and do something to maintain my attractiveness as a woman. That’s why I chose the path of an AV actress,” she explained.

While her husband is unaware of her double life, Shinohara came clean to her younger sister immediately upon deciding to debut. Far from rejecting her, her sister recently opened a social media account to share behind-the-scenes glimpses of Shinohara’s daily life, which quickly gained traction online.

“No one has ever criticized me”

Her circle of “mom friends” — other mothers she met through raising her child — are also in on the secret.

“Many of my friends are in the beauty industry, so they help me with skincare and give me advice,” Shinohara said. “No one has ever criticized me for taking this job. Some even pushed me to do it.”

The tight-knit group of mothers even acts as an emergency response team. Shinohara recounted a chaotic morning before a business trip to Hong Kong when her child suddenly developed a fever, and she subsequently locked herself out of her apartment. While her sister rushed over to help navigate the panic, Shinohara’s mom friends later scolded her for not calling on them.

“They told me, ‘Why didn’t you tell us? We told you we’d always help!'” she laughed.

Her unconventional career has also turned her into an impromptu consultant for her fellow mothers, particularly regarding sex education. Recognizing the gap in how to properly teach children about sex, her friends now turn to her for advice.

“A mom friend told me, ‘We need to relearn sex education ourselves,'” Shinohara said. “As parents, many of us realize how difficult it is to teach our children about sex. I was happy that they looked at me as a professional in that regard, and we plan to keep discussing how to handle sex education at home.”

When asked what will happen if her child eventually discovers her explicit videos, Shinohara remains resolute.

“If they find my social media or my work, I fully intend to explain it to them properly,” she said. “To ensure I have nothing to be ashamed of when that time comes, I just have to give it my all right now. Whether I quit or continue, the fact that I appeared in these videos won’t change. It’s more important to maintain a healthy mental state and produce high-quality work.”

Currently aiming to become a permanent fixture in the industry’s top 10 rankings, Shinohara says she has found her calling. “Even if I retire in the future, I want to keep working in a position where I can be involved with other AV actresses.”

当被问及如果她的孩子最终发现了她的不雅视频会发生什么时，筱原依然坚定地回答。

“如果他们发现我的社交媒体或作品，我一定会向他们做出解释，”她说。“为了确保到时候我不会感到羞愧，我现在必须全力以赴。无论我退出还是继续，我出现在这些视频中的事实都不会改变。保持健康的心理状态和创作高质量的作品才是最重要的。”

筱原目前的目标是成为业内前十名中的常客，她说自己找到了人生方向。“即使将来退休，我也想继续从事能够与其他AV女优一起工作的职业。”
