No confidence motion? Negri Sembilan Speaker says none filed against MB Ismail Lasim

Speaker Datuk Seri Dr. Awaludin Said has confirmed that there is no motion of no confidence filed against Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim for the upcoming state assembly sitting.

Despite recent social media speculation, Awaludin stated that he has not received any official motions or heard of plans to oust Ismail.

He emphasized that any emergency motions to remove Ismail would not be allowed, citing the importance of following due legislative and legal processes.

Awaludin urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow time for resolution of ongoing issues.

SEREMBAN, Sept 14 — Speaker Datuk Seri Dr Awaludin Said today confirmed there is no motion of no confidence filed against Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state assembly sitting.

As reported by The Star , Awaludin said he has not received any official notice or heard of such a move following recent developments surrounding the adat issue in the state.

“I can deny that this will be brought up or tabled at the upcoming sitting. Also, I will only allow a motion if the state government has made a decision on it,” he was quoted as saying.

Awaludin was responding to speculation on social media that assemblymen from Barisan Nasional or Perikatan Nasional were planning to oust Ismail during the sitting scheduled for October 16.

The five-day sitting will be officially opened by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

According to The Star , Awaludin stressed that even if an emergency motion was tabled to remove Ismail, he would not allow it.

He said issues related to unverified matters could not be brought into the House, which he described as the highest legislative institution to make laws and policies.

He added that matters deemed illegal under state laws should first be resolved by the authorities, including the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang, before being raised in the assembly.

He appealed to the public to be patient and avoid speculation.

“For me, what is important is that the state government has been formed, the MB appointed, the exco and assemblymen sworn in.

“Let’s give the state government time to resolve the issues before us.

“Do not listen too much to allegations and assumptions which are mostly untrue,” he said.

On September 5, four individuals identifying themselves as the Undang Yang Empat, together with the Tunku Besar of Tampin and Dato’ Shahbandar of Sungei Ujong, alleged that Ismail had signed a proclamation endorsing the deposition of Tuanku Muhriz as state ruler. They claimed the document was signed at Istana Laguna Biru in Port Dickson on August 3.

Ismail later said he had signed the document under duress and lodged a police report. He also pledged loyalty to Tuanku Muhriz as the legitimate Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

“我可以否认，这项议题会在即将召开的会议上提出或提交审议。此外，只有在州政府就此作出决定的情况下，我才会允许提出动议。”他说道。

阿瓦鲁丁此番回应是针对社交媒体上的猜测，即国民阵线或国民联盟的议员计划在定于 10 月 16 日举行的会议上罢免伊斯梅尔。

为期五天的会议将由森美兰国家元首端姑穆里兹端姑穆纳维尔正式宣布开幕。

据《星报》报道，阿瓦鲁丁强调，即使有人提出紧急动议罢免伊斯梅尔，他也不会允许。

他表示，与未经核实的事项相关的问题不能提交众议院讨论，他称众议院是制定法律和政策的最高立法机构。

他还补充说，根据州法律被视为非法的事项，应首先由包括公正与立法委员会在内的有关当局解决，然后再提交议会讨论。

他呼吁公众保持耐心，避免猜测。

“对我来说，重要的是州政府已经成立，州务大臣已经任命，州行政委员会和州议员已经宣誓就职。

“让我们给州政府一些时间来解决摆在我们面前的问题。”

他说：“不要太听信那些大多不实的指控和猜测。”

9月5日，四名自称Undang Yang Empat的人士，连同淡边的东姑勿刹和双溪乌戎的拿督沙班达，声称伊斯梅尔签署了一份公告，支持废黜端姑穆赫里兹作为国家统治者。他们声称该文件于8月3日在波德申的Istana Laguna Biru签署。

伊斯梅尔后来表示，他是在胁迫下签署了这份文件，并已向警方报案。他还宣誓效忠端姑慕赫里兹，称其为合法的最高统治者。
