During my 15-day journey through Oceania in August, what surprised me most was the weather. Almost every day brought sunshine, blue skies and fluffy white clouds. Beautiful weather, one would think.

And yet, on some Pacific Island nations, such fine weather does not necessarily put people’s minds at ease.
