Car rear-ends SUV in Yishun; 23-year-old taken to hospital

A 23-year-old man was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after he was involved in a two-car accident in Yishun on Wednesday (Sept 16) night.

The incident happened at about 8.15pm along Yishun Ring Road.

A video of the incident posted by TikTok user Napzkki shows a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was rear-ended by a grey saloon car.

The car behind is seen with significant damage to its bonnet and front bumper, which became partially dislodged after the accident. Its airbags also appear to have been activated during the accident.

Meanwhile, debris is seen scattered around the two vehicles, with two Traffic Police motorcycles used to divert traffic away from the affected vehicles.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force and police told AsiaOne in separate statements that the 23-year-old male car driver was taken conscious to the hospital.

The police added that a 33-year-old male car driver is assisting with ongoing police investigations.

TikTok 用户 Napzkki 发布的一段事故视频显示，一辆黑色运动型多用途车 (SUV) 被一辆灰色轿车追尾。

后面那辆车的引擎盖和前保险杠损毁严重，事故发生后部分保险杠脱落。其安全气囊似乎也在事故中弹出。

与此同时，可以看到两辆车周围散落着碎片，两辆交警摩托车被用来引导车辆绕开受损车辆。

新加坡民防部队和警方分别向AsiaOne发表声明称，这名23岁的男性司机被送往医院时意识清醒。

警方补充说，一名33岁的男性汽车司机正在协助警方进行调查。
