Emergency appendicitis surgery in Japan ends swimmer Yu Jing's Games

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's swimmer Tong Yu Jing has withdrawn from the Asian Games in Japan because of appendicitis and he is recovering well after undergoing successful emergency surgery on Monday (Sept 21).

The 21-year-old Yu Jing was scheduled to compete in the men's 50m freestyle and butterfly events on Monday and Thursday respectively but started experiencing severe abdominal pain and vomiting.
