ComfortDelGro, Strides Premier extend temporary fare adjustment till Nov 30

Taxi operators ComfortDelGro and Strides Premier will extend their respective temporary metered fare adjustments till Nov 30.

First introduced in March this year, the fare hike on metered fares is intended to be temporary, and is part of measures to support sustainable driver earnings amid rising fuel costs.

It was to be in place till May 31 but was extended till July 31, then to Sept 30, and now to Nov 30.

During this period, there will be a one cent increase to the distance time rate for all metered trips — which currently ranges from $0.26 on normal and 6-seater taxis to $0.38 on its limousine cab.

The increase is for every 400m/45 seconds for distances below 10km and every 350m/45 seconds for distances greater than 10km — for all taxi models.

ComfortDelGro said in its Facebook post on Tuesday (Sept 22) that the third extension is due to ongoing fuel price increases.

In its Facebook post, Strides Premier said the full amount from the adjustment will be passed directly to its driver-partners to help offset higher fuel expenses.

Last week, major fuel companies in Singapore collectively posted five rounds of price hikes to their respective fuel prices.

The price of the more popular 95-octane petrol rose from around $3.36 on Sept 13 to as high as $3.49 by Sept 20.

对于所有出租车车型，10 公里以内的距离每增加 400 米/45 秒，10 公里以上的距离每增加 350 米/45 秒。

ComfortDelGro周二（9月22日）在其Facebook帖子中表示，第三次延期是由于燃油价格持续上涨。

Strides Premier 在其 Facebook 帖子中表示，调整后的全部金额将直接转给其司机合作伙伴，以帮助抵消更高的燃油费用。

上周，新加坡各大燃油公司共宣布了五轮燃油价格上涨。

更受欢迎的95号汽油价格从9月13日的每加仑3.36美元左右上涨到9月20日的每加仑3.49美元。
