Raffles Institution (RI) has lodged a police report and stepped-up security measures following a viral video of a man allegedly following female students near the school while wearing smart glasses .
In a statement to AsiaOne on Friday (Sept 25), RI principal Aaron Loh said the school is aware of the incident.
"We take a serious view on our students' safety and well-being," Loh said.
The school has since lodged a police report and deployed security personnel outside the school during dismissal times as an additional security measure.
"We will continue to take appropriate steps to ensure our students' safety," he added.
The development comes after a video circulating on social media showed a man allegedly following female students. Online users alleged that he was wearing smart glasses and may have been recording the students.
The video prompted concern among members of the public, with some users questioning whether the device could have been used to record the students.
Other social media users alleged that they had seen the man previously.
Police investigations are ongoing.
