MACC chief: Two former Felda officials to be charged over Kuala Lumpur Vertical City project next week

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will charge two former senior officials connected to the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City project on allegations of misappropriation involving Felda.

A former Felda general manager will be charged with one count under Section 420 on September 30, while a former CEO of the Felda Investment Committee will face two charges under Section 417 on September 29.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 25 — Two individuals being investigated over alleged misappropriation involving the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) project linked to Felda will be charged next week, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said.

He said the two were a former Felda general manager and a former chief executive officer of Felda Investment Committee, also known as Felda Investment Commission.

"The Attorney General has given consent to charge the two individuals involved. The former Felda general manager will face one charge under Section 420, and the charge will be registered in court on September 30.

"The other individual, the former chief executive officer of Felda Investment Committee or Commission, will face two charges under Section 417, and the charges will be brought on September 29," he told a press conference after the Fifth National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference closing ceremony here today.

The KLVC investigation is among seven investigation papers involving Felda and Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC), comprising six new investigation papers and one previous investigation.
