BEIJING: China sent two giant pandas to the United States on Sunday (Sept 27), state media said, after a Washington summit that was heavy on symbolism and light on major breakthroughs.

BEIJING: China sent two giant pandas to the United States on Sunday (Sept 27), state media said, after a Washington summit that was heavy on symbolism and light on major breakthroughs.
The pandas' transfer had been already agreed but the departure was announced Thursday during Chinese President Xi Jinping visit to Washington.

北京：据官方媒体报道，中国于周日（9月27日）向美国赠送了两只大熊猫。此前，华盛顿峰会象征意义浓厚，但并未取得重大突破。
熊猫的转移早已达成一致，但此次转移是在中国国家主席习近平周四访问华盛顿期间宣布的。
