15 hawker centres to close for cleaning first week of October

A total of 15 hawker centres across Singapore will close for one to five days from Sept 28 to Oct 4 for cleaning.

According to the National Environmental Agency, such cleaning is conducted regularly so that Singaporeans can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment.

The hawker centres undergoing cleaning include Chomp Chomp Food Centre, ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre, and 51 Old Airport Road Food Centre and Shopping Mall, among others.

In addition, the hawker centre at Changi Village Block 2 and 3 will undergo repairs and redecoration works from Oct 10 to Oct 15.

Two other hawker centres — Kim Keat Palm Market and Food Centre at Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and Blk 726 Clementi West Street 2 — are currently undergoing repairs and redecoration work, slated to be completed on Dec 13 and Dec 27 respectively.

There are a total of 123 markets and hawker centres across Singapore.

据国家环境局称，定期进行此类清洁工作是为了让新加坡人能够在干净卫生的环境中享用价格实惠的食物。

正在进行清洁的小贩中心包括 Chomp Chomp 美食中心、ABC Brickworks 巴刹与美食中心、以及 51 Old Airport Road 美食中心和购物中心等。

此外，樟宜村第 2 座和第 3 座的小贩中心将于 10 月 10 日至 10 月 15 日进行维修和重新装修工程。

另外两个小贩中心——大巴窑7巷的金吉棕榈市场和熟食中心以及金文泰西街2座726座——目前正在进行维修和重新装修工作，预计将分别于12月13日和12月27日完成。

新加坡共有123个市场和小贩中心。
