Car hits boy riding kickscooter across road in Ang Mo Kio

A boy riding a kickscooter was hit by a car while crossing a road in Ang Mo Kio last Tuesday (Sept 22) evening.

Dashcam footage shared by Facebook page SG Road Vigilante on Sept 28 shows a boy waiting to cross the road at a traffic junction.

As the traffic light turns green, he begins riding his kickscooter across the road.

Seconds later, a white vehicle approaches and collides with the boy, sending him flying.

According to the Facebook post, the boy's mother said her son's mobile phone was lost in the accident, adding that the driver refused to lend the boy his phone or help him contact his family.

She also said the driver did not provide further assistance, and that a stranger accompanied her son home.

The boy is believed to be 11 years old.

The mother said her son was examined by a doctor, who found that he had no serious injuries. However, he vomited a day after the accident.

Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 at about 7.55pm on Sept 22.

A 42-year-old male car driver is assisting with ongoing police investigations while SCDF said its assistance was not required.

上周二（9月22日）晚上，一名男孩在宏茂桥过马路时骑着滑板车被汽车撞倒。

9月28日，Facebook页面SG Road Vigilante分享了一段行车记录仪视频，视频显示一名男孩在交通路口等待过马路。

交通灯变绿后，他开始骑着滑板车穿过马路。

几秒钟后，一辆白色车辆驶来并撞上了男孩，把他撞飞了出去。

根据脸书上的帖子，男孩的母亲说她儿子的手机在事故中丢失了，并补充说，肇事司机拒绝把手机借给男孩，也拒绝帮助他联系家人。

她还表示，司机没有提供进一步的帮助，而且是一个陌生人陪她儿子回家的。

据信这名男孩11岁。

母亲说，医生给她的儿子做了检查，发现他没有受重伤。但是，事故发生一天后，他出现了呕吐的症状。

针对 AsiaOne 的询问，警方和新加坡民防部队 (SCDF) 表示，他们于 9 月 22 日晚上 7 点 55 分左右接到报警，称宏茂桥 10 道发生了一起涉及汽车和行人的交通事故。

一名 42 岁的男性汽车司机正在协助警方进行调查，而新加坡民防部队表示不需要提供协助。
