Perlis police have received a report accusing a male motivational speaker of sexual harassment, lodged by a 19-year-old female.

The investigation covers possible violations under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act.

The individual, currently on a two-day remand in connection with another report, is set to be re-arrested for further investigations, with a remand application scheduled at the Kangar Magistrates' Court.

KANGAR, Oct 4 — Perlis police have confirmed receiving another report against a male motivational speaker over an allegation of sexual harassment.

Perlis police chief DCP Hamzah Hashim said the report was received yesterday and involved a 19-year-old female complainant.

“The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act,” he said in a statement today.

Hamzah said the man is currently under a two-day remand order ending today in connection with a police report lodged in Padang Besar.

He said the motivational speaker would be released on police bail before being re-arrested by Kangar police for further action.

He added that an application for remand to assist investigations into the Kangar case would be made at the Kangar Magistrates’ Court tomorrow. — Bernama
