Two local men in their 30s were arrested following a police chase involving a suspected cloned Subaru, which began in Bukit Antarabangsa and concluded in Batu Caves, Gombak.

According to Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid, the pursuit was initiated based on information received at about 4:36 am and involved multiple Mobile Patrol Vehicles.

The men tested positive for drugs, and one was wanted for a drug-related case.

The investigation is proceeding under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant.

AMPANG, Oct 5 — Police arrested two local men in their 30s after a chase involving a Subaru that began in Bukit Antarabangsa and ended in Batu Caves, Gombak, early yesterday.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said the operation began after the district police headquarters received information about the vehicle at about 4.36am.

He said several Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPVs) were deployed to assist officers in pursuing the Subaru from Jalan Wangsa in Bukit Antarabangsa towards the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) in Hulu Kelang.

The pursuit continued into the Batu Caves area, where police managed to stop the vehicle and arrest its two occupants, he said in a statement cited by Sinar Harian.

Khairul Anuar said preliminary checks found that the Subaru was suspected to be a cloned vehicle.

Both men also tested positive for drugs during urine screening, while police checks found that one of them was wanted in connection with a drug-related case, he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of his duties.
