国家能源公司称,一名男子在巴生一家第三方电力安装公司因涉嫌盗窃电缆触电身亡。

A man died from electrocution at a 33kV link box in Kapar, Klang, which belongs to a third party, not TNB.

TNB suspects vandalism and is supporting authorities in their investigation, according to reports.

Police indicated the man, allegedly attempting to steal cables, was found dead by the public.

SHAH ALAM, Oct 5 — An electrical accident that left a man dead at a 33kV link box along Jalan Abas in Kapar, Klang today occurred at an installation belonging to a third party and not Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), the utility company said.

Sinar Harian reported that TNB said it was alerted to the incident at about 10am and immediately dispatched a technical team to the scene.

“The incident is believed to be linked to vandalism.

“TNB will provide its full support and cooperation to the authorities in their investigations,” it said, confirming the incident which was also shared on the TNB Careline Facebook page today.

Earlier, police confirmed that a local man in his 40s was found dead after being electrocuted, allegedly while attempting to steal electrical cables.

Klang Utara district police chief ACP Ramsay Embol said the man’s body was discovered by members of the public, who alerted the authorities.

TNB also reminded the public not to tamper with, open or approach electrical installations, warning that such actions could result in serious injury or death.
