El Nino places 106 areas in Philippines under state of calamity, affects over 300,000

MANILA: El Nino has placed 106 cities and municipalities across the country under a state of calamity and affected more than 388,000 people, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

MANILA: El Nino has placed 106 cities and municipalities across the country under a state of calamity and affected more than 388,000 people, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

In its latest report as of Monday (Oct 5), the NDRRMC said 66 areas in Cagayan were under a state of calamity, along with 23 in the Caraga region, 12 in the Bicol region, four in Calabarzon and one in Soccsksargen.
