Televangelist Jim Bakker has died at 86, according to a statement from his wife, Lori Bakker, posted on social media Monday. Bakker built the PTL ministry with Tammy Faye Messner before resigning in a 1987 scandal. No cause of death was given.

Students and faculty were among those gathered Monday at the "Justice for Survivors" rally to protest against Cornell University's handling of the alleged gang rape of Jane Doe in 2024.

On Monday, the Cornell Daily Sun reported anonymous activists smashed a glass door and painted messages on the exterior walls of Day Hall.

The White House is monitoring a suspected Russian pneumonic plague incident that has forced close to 200 people under medical observation. Former White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha raised alarms over the suspicious scale of the response, telling Erin Burnett that "200 people under quarantine... is not what you would expect from a simple lab accident." Pointing to Russia's alleged extensive biological weapons program, Jha warned that "we have to assume that there is something more going on than what we're seeing."

New audio obtained by ABC News reveals a phone call between Jane Doe and the fraternity member that she says invited her to the house the night of the alleged assault in 2024. The phone call took place about three weeks after the alleged incident and was recorded secretly by Jane Doe, according to ABC. The broadcast on ABC’s Good Morning America did not include audio of the alleged victim, known as Jane Doe. Her portion of the conversation was quoted in the report.

Dozens of people were reported to be in isolation after a 28-year-old Russian laboratory worker at an institute dedicated to studying the plague and other infectious diseases died of an undisclosed illness. CNN's Fred Pleitgen reports.

Caleb Flynn spoke in court ahead of his sentencing, denying that he killed his wife. Flynn was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the aggravated murder of Ashley Flynn.

A lawyer in the Cornell case thinks key photos and videos were potentially lost, while investigators failed to seize phones, and says additional suspects may remain unidentified.
