SINGAPORE – Twenty people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a ground-floor unit of a HDB block in Tampines on Sept 3 .
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at Block 477 Tampines Street 43 at about 8.20am.
The fire involved an electrical distribution box in the unit, it said, adding that firefighters extinguished the blaze with a water jet.
About 20 people were evacuated from the affected block as a precaution.
A person from a neighbouring unit was assessed for shortness of breath, but declined to be taken to hospital, SCDF added. No other injuries were reported.

A video posted by online media outlet Stomp on Sept 3 shows black smoke emerging from a space on the ground floor. SCDF officers are seen at the scene and a police cordon has been set up behind the block.
Several onlookers can be seen gathered at the pavement nearby.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

报道称，起火原因是该单元内的一个配电箱，消防员用水枪扑灭了大火。
为安全起见，受影响街区的约 20 人被疏散。
新加坡民防部队补充说，邻近单位的一名人员因呼吸困难接受了评估，但拒绝被送往医院。没有其他人员受伤的报告。

9月3日，网络媒体Stomp发布的一段视频显示，一楼某处冒出滚滚黑烟。新加坡民防部队人员已抵达现场，警戒线已设在楼后。
可以看到几名围观者聚集在附近的人行道上。
火灾原因正在调查中。
