Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also highlighted the success of the Kampung Angkat Madani and Sekolah Angkat Madani initiatives, benefiting numerous villages and schools across the country since 2024.

To further support urban People's Housing Project communities, the government plans to launch the Komuniti Angkat Madani initiative with a budget of RM50 million in 2027.

Anwar commended the collaborative contributions of ministries, agencies, and corporate bodies in these efforts.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — The federal government today announced an increase in allocations for the maintenance of Chinese New Villages and non-Muslim houses of worship from 2027 onwards.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the allocation for infrastructure upgrades in Chinese New Villages will be increased to more than RM100 million, including repairs and rebuilding of ageing facilities.

“Meanwhile, funding for the maintenance of registered non-Muslim houses of worship will also be increased to RM80 million,” he said during the tabling of Budget 2027 at the Dewan Rakyat here today.

Separately, Anwar said the ongoing Kampung Angkat Madani and Sekolah Angkat Madani initiatives have benefitted nearly 500 villages and 1,700 schools nationwide since 2024.

Therefore, the government will introduce the Komuniti Angkat Madani initiative with an allocation of RM50 million for 2027, focusing on helping urban People’s Housing Project (PPR) communities.

“For example, the Attorney General’s Chambers provided facilities in Kampung Jilid 8 in Kuala Muda, Kedah, including a football field, a fishermen’s jetty and a Bank Simpanan Nasional ATM, which also benefit residents of neighbouring villages.

“Meanwhile, SK Telok Kalong in Terengganu received a comfortable special remedial classroom and robotics learning facilities for pupils through contributions from Sime Darby Berhad,” he said.

He then expressed his appreciation to the management of ministries, departments and agencies, as well as corporate bodies, for contributing to the initiatives.
