KAPIT, Oct 11 — Kapit MP Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has reminded Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), associations, and community organisations to manage aid transparently and use it for its intended purposes.

Nanta, who also serves as works minister, said accountability and integrity must be prioritised to ensure that every allocation benefits the local community.

“This assistance goes beyond financial support. It also represents a shared trust and responsibility to promote development further and improve the wellbeing of the people in Kapit,” he said at the cheque presentation ceremony for contributions under the Kapit parliamentary constituency here today.

At the event, 26 recipients from the JKKK, associations, clubs and community organisations in the constituency received a total of RM217,600.

He said cooperation among committee members is important to ensure the assistance is used responsibly and meets their organisations’ needs.

The assistance includes funding for longhouse administration and management, community activities, welfare programmes and basic community facilities.

“The funds will support JKKK and association activities, education and sports programmes, the purchase of administrative equipment and the construction of facilities, including public toilets,” he said, adding that the assistance also includes funding for longhouse administration and management.

Nanta said he hoped the assistance would ease recipients’ financial burdens and help them carry out their responsibilities more effectively for the community's wellbeing. — Bernama
