Rescue efforts intensify after Xizang earthquake kills 16, injures 76

BAQEN: Sixteen people have been killed and 76 others injured following a 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Baqen County in Nagqu City, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, at 10.33pm on Thursday, local authorities said.

The quake has also damaged or destroyed 339 homes and 20 livestock sheds, according to a press conference held on Friday afternoon by the information office of the Nagqu municipal government.
