KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 — Former Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has called on the people of the state to stand behind Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, as two Pakatan Harapan lawmakers questioned whether a state executive council statement affirming his removal represents the official position of the state government.

Aminuddin, who is also Negri Sembilan PKR chief, called for solidarity with Tuanku Muhriz and urged the public to defend the institution of constitutional monarchy.

“I call on all the people of Negeri Sembilan to stand united and pray for the well-being of His Royal Highness Tunku Muhriz, as well as to defend the sovereignty of the institution of constitutional monarchy.

“Reject leaders who betray the royal institution and violate the (state) constitution. Our loyalty is only to the king and country,” he said in a Facebook statement today.

Bahau assemblyman Teo Kok Seong, a former state exco member, meanwhile questioned whether a joint statement by exco members could be regarded as the official position of the state government.

He said official government positions or announcements were usually issued through the menteri besar or the state secretary’s office.

“Therefore, a joint statement by the exco members only reflects the position of the exco members concerned and should not be regarded as the official position of the state government,” he was quoted saying by Malaysiakini.

Nilai assemblyman and opposition leader J. Arul Kumar separately called for an immediate explanation over what he described as two different and seemingly contradictory statements concerning Tuanku Muhriz and the royal institution.

He was referring to a statement by Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim yesterday and the exco statement issued yesterday.

Ismail had said the menteri besar did not have unilateral power to remove a sitting ruler and had invoked the state constitution.

Arul said exco members could express differing views during discussions but the government’s position should be unified once a decision had been reached.

“If it is true that there are two conflicting statements regarding the same matter, this situation must be clarified immediately by the state government,” he was quoted as saying.

He also called on the state government to explain the decision reached at the exco meeting, including whether both statements were based on the same decision and, if not, which was valid.

The latest reactions come amid a months-long dispute over the Negeri Sembilan throne.

In its statement yesterday, the state exco said the April 19 proclamation removing Tuanku Muhriz had been signed and sealed by the legitimate Undang, and that the decision to remove him was the absolute prerogative of the Undang Yang Empat, the four ruling territorial chiefs who elect the state ruler.

It also said Ismail’s signature as menteri besar on August 3 completed the proclamation in accordance with the state constitution.

The statement, however, did not address the position of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU), which said Article 10 of the state constitution, allowing the four chieftains to remove a ruler, requires a thorough enquiry.

Ismail had previously claimed he was forced to sign the proclamation on August 3 and lodged a police report over the matter.

与此同时，巴豪州议员、前州行政议员张国成质疑，行政议员的联合声明是否可以被视为州政府的官方立场。

他表示，官方政府立场或公告通常通过州务大臣或州秘书办公室发布。

据《当今大马》报道，他表示：“因此，行政议员的联合声明仅反映相关行政议员的立场，不应被视为州政府的官方立场。”

汝来州议员兼反对党领袖 J. Arul Kumar 分别呼吁立即就他所说的关于端姑慕赫里兹和王室的两份不同且看似矛盾的声明作出解释。

他指的是州务大臣拿督依斯迈拉欣昨天发表的声明以及行政会议昨天发表的声明。

伊斯梅尔曾表示，州务大臣没有单方面罢免在任统治者的权力，并援引了州宪法。

阿鲁尔表示，执委会成员在讨论中可以表达不同的意见，但一旦达成决定，政府的立场就应该统一。

据报道，他表示：“如果确实存在关于同一事项的两种相互矛盾的说法，州政府必须立即澄清这种情况。”

他还要求州政府解释执行委员会会议上做出的决定，包括这两项声明是否基于同一决定，如果不是，哪一项才是有效的。

最新的反应发生在森美兰州王位继承权之争持续数月之际。

昨天，州行政议会发表声明称，4月19日罢免端姑慕赫里兹的公告已由合法的州长签署盖章，罢免他的决定是选举州统治者的四位地方酋长——州长元首的绝对特权。

声明还指出，伊斯梅尔于8月3日以州务大臣身份签署的公告，符合州宪法的规定，标志着该公告的完成。

然而，该声明并未提及国家公正与立法委员会（DKU）的立场，该委员会表示，州宪法第 10 条允许四位酋长罢免统治者，需要进行彻底调查。

伊斯梅尔此前声称，他是被迫于 8 月 3 日签署该公告的，并就此事向警方报案。
