F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2026: Marina Centre, Padang roads to close from Oct 7-13

The Singapore Grand Prix will take place from Oct 9 to 11, with roads in the Marina Centre and Padang areas to close over a seven-day period around the race dates.

Road closures will take place from Oct 9 to 11, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Friday (Sept 4).

The road closures will be required to facilitate the set-up and removal of race infrastructure, LTA explained in a news release.

The race organiser has put in place measures to minimise traffic disruptions, the authority added.

It also encouraged members of the public and Formula 1 (F1) ticket holders to take public transport during the period of closure.

Road closures in Marina Centre, Padang areas

The roads closed for the races include: Collyer Quay, St. Andrew's Road, Stamford Road, Nicholl Highway, Esplanade Drive, Republic Boulevard, Raffles Avenue and Bayfront Avenue.

They will close from 12.01am on Oct 7 and will be fully accessible by 5.30am on Oct 13, said LTA.

Roads will be progressively reopened in phases to restore traffic as soon as possible, after the race is over, it added.

To facilitate morning and evening peak hour traffic, road corridors will be opened at selected hours during the road closure period.

Motorists, except those driving buses and vehicles with W, X and Y plates, will also be able to access the area around Suntec City, Pan Pacific Hotel and Millenia Walk at selected timings through a single lane along Raffles Boulevard via Nicoll Highway.

Taxis and motorcycles, along with vehicles with valid access plates, are allowed to use this single-lane access at all times, except during F1 race hours, LTA said.

It added that admissions to these roads may be restricted if the traffic volume is high.

In addition, the car parks at Suntec City, Millenia Walk and Marina Square will remain open to the public.

Yellow temporary road signs with symbols that indicate key destinations will be put up in the vicinity to guide motorists.

Public transport options

Train services will be extended on race days from Oct 9 to 11, with the last trains on the North-South and East-West lines departing from City Hall MRT station at 12.30am on Oct 9 and 10, and 12.45am on Oct 11.

Operating hours for the other train lines, except for the Changi Airport service, will also be extended, LTA said.

Selected bus services connecting from MRT stations will also have extended operating hours to complement the extension of train services.

"Members of the public and F1 ticket holders are strongly encouraged to take public transport to get to the Marina Centre and Padang area from 7 to 13 October 2026," LTA said.

They can use taxis and private hire cars as alternative travel options.

除驾驶公共汽车和挂有 W、X 和 Y 牌照的车辆外，其他驾驶者也可以在指定时间通过莱佛士大道上的单车道经由尼诰大道进入新达城、泛太平洋酒店和美年广场附近区域。

陆路交通管理局表示，出租车、摩托车以及持有有效通行证的车辆，除F1比赛期间外，均可随时使用这条单车道通道。

声明还补充说，如果交通流量较大，这些道路的通行可能会受到限制。

此外，新达城、美年广场和滨海广场的停车场将继续向公众开放。

附近将竖立带有指示主要目的地符号的黄色临时道路标志，以引导驾车者。

公共交通选择

10 月 9 日至 11 日比赛日期间，地铁服务将延长，南北线和东西线的末班车将于 10 月 9 日和 10 日凌晨 12 点 30 分从市政厅地铁站出发，10 月 11 日凌晨 12 点 45 分从市政厅地铁站出发。

陆路交通管理局表示，除樟宜机场线外，其他地铁线路的运营时间也将延长。

为配合地铁服务的延长，部分从地铁站出发的巴士服务也将延长运营时间。

陆路交通管理局表示：“我们强烈建议公众和F1门票持有者在2026年10月7日至13日期间乘坐公共交通工具前往滨海中心和巴东地区。”

他们可以选择出租车和私人租车作为其他出行方式。
