A video of a man following a pair of female students and allegedly filming them using his smart glasses has gone viral, sparking safety concerns.
The video was first posted to Reddit by BBlackjack160 showing a bespectacled man in a grey shirt and black shorts tailing two girls in school uniform through a temporary sheltered walkway.
The girls appear to be unaware of his presence behind them as the person behind the camera walks up towards the man.
He is wearing a mask and clutching his phone to his chest as he presses what seems like a button on his black-rimmed glasses.
He then immediately makes a U-turn and walks in the opposite direction of the girls and the person filming him.
Netizens recognise him
Although the video has been removed by Reddit, several Redditors commented that his actions seemed suspicious.
"He is definitely pressing something," one commenter alleged with a screenshot from the video.
Another Redditor added that the way the man held his phone in the video "looks like he is recording using that", referring to how the phone is angled such that it could potentially get a good angle of the two girls.
Netizens have also responded in the thread claiming that they recognise him.
One Redditor alleged that the man hangs out at Junction 8 while waiting for Raffles Institution students to be dismissed around midday.
Another commenter claimed that when she studied at Raffles Junior College, she saw the man waiting outside Marymount MRT station asking her to do a "survey".
"It was a bunch of really random and weird questions," she wrote.
Yet another Redditor wrote: "Omg please don’t give him anything! I made a mistake and filled in his stupid survey and months later he contacted me on Telegram."
Checks by AsiaOne show that the girls' uniform in the video look similar to that of Raffles Institution students.
"He's still at it?" wrote a Reddit user, adding that she had reported him "back when Meta glasses did not exist" and he recorded girls with his phone.
But the user said the police could not take any action as he had the right to be there since it was a public area.
"It's terrible that he is still doing it [after] all these years later. Stay safe and vigilant please, girls!"

“他还在干这种事？”一位Reddit用户写道，并补充说，早在“Meta眼镜还没出现的时候”，她就举报过他，因为他用手机偷拍女孩。
但该用户表示，由于这是公共区域，他有权待在那里，因此警方无法采取任何行动。
“这么多年过去了，他还在做这种事，太可怕了。女孩们，请务必注意安全，提高警惕！”
