Man falls from third floor of Ipoh hospital building, in critical condition

A man in his 60s or 70s is in critical condition after falling from the third floor of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Ipoh.

Preliminary investigations revealed a security guard noticed him acting suspiciously before the incident.

Police seek public assistance in identifying the unidentified man, who wore a red T-shirt and black slacks.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — A man is in critical condition after falling from the third floor of a building at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) in Ipoh yesterday afternoon.

Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police received a report about the incident at about 2.30pm, Kosmo! Online reported.

He said preliminary investigations found that a hospital security guard had noticed a man behaving suspiciously in an emergency staircase.

“The security guard then followed the man before discovering that the victim had fallen from the third floor of the building.

“The victim was subsequently taken to the HRPB Emergency Department for treatment,” he said when contacted here today.

Muhammad Najib said the victim was believed to be a local man aged between 60 and 70, and was not carrying any identification documents.

He said the man was wearing a red short-sleeved T-shirt and black slacks when he was found.

“The victim is still receiving treatment and is reported to be in critical condition.

“Police are appealing to members of the public who have information, have family members reported missing or recognise the victim based on these descriptions to come forward to help identify him,” he said.

据 Kosmo! Online 报道，怡保警区主任助理警监穆罕默德·纳吉布·哈姆扎表示，警方于下午 2 点 30 分左右接到有关这起事件的报告。

他说，初步调查发现，一名医院保安注意到一名男子在紧急楼梯间行为可疑。

“保安随后跟踪了该男子，发现受害者是从大楼三楼坠落的。

“受害者随后被送往HRPB急诊科接受治疗，”他今天在这里接受采访时说。

穆罕默德·纳吉布表示，受害者据信是一名年龄在 60 至 70 岁之间的当地男子，身上没有任何身份证件。

他说，发现这名男子时，他身穿红色短袖T恤和黑色长裤。

“受害者仍在接受治疗，据报道情况危急。”

他说：“警方呼吁知情人士、有失踪家属报案或根据这些描述认出受害者的公众挺身而出，帮助确认其身份。”
