Brunei's crown prince on 5-day visit to Singapore for 12th Young Leaders' Programme

Brunei's crown prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah is on a five-day official visit to Singapore until Oct 2.

Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced in a statement on Sunday (Sept 27) that the visit is at the invitation of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

The two leaders will co-chair the 12th edition of the Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders' Programme (YLP).

Launched in 2013, the annual programme serves to build and deepen ties between the next generation of leaders on both sides, MFA said.

The ministry added that the platform reflects the strong commitment of both countries to enflects both countries' strong commitment to strengthening their special bilateral relationship.

"It is also an opportunity to discuss ways to advance our partnership in areas of shared interest including the digital and green economies, finance, defence, and food security," MFA said.

While in Singapore, the crown prince will be hosted by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, PM Wong, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and other Singapore leaders.

He is also scheduled to visit Tuas Port, SAFTI City , Temasek Shophouse , the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine, Sultan Mosque, the Malay Heritage Centre, the Singapore Oceanarium, Punggol Digital District, and the Singapore Institute of Technology.

The crown prince is accompanied by a delegation that includes Brunei Minister of Transport and Info-Communication Dato Seri Setia Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos and senior officials.

文莱王储兼首相府高级部长哈吉·穆赫塔迪·比拉亲王正在新加坡进行为期五天的正式访问，访问将于10月2日结束。

新加坡外交部（MFA）周日（9月27日）发表声明宣布，此次访问是应总理黄循财的邀请进行的。

两位领导人将共同主持第十二届新加坡-文莱青年领袖计划（YLP）。

外交部表示，该年度计划于2013年启动，旨在建立和深化双方下一代领导人之间的联系。

该部补充说，该平台体现了两国加强特殊双边关系的坚定承诺。

外交部表示：“这也是一个讨论如何在共同感兴趣的领域（包括数字和绿色经济、金融、国防和粮食安全）推进伙伴关系的机会。”

在新加坡期间，王储将受到总统尚达曼、总理黄之锋、国务资政李显龙及其他新加坡领导人的接待。

他还计划参观大士港、新加坡武装部队技术学院城、淡马锡店屋、新加坡保健集团杜克-新加坡国立大学生物多样性医学研究所、苏丹清真寺、马来文化遗产中心、新加坡海洋馆、榜鹅数码区和新加坡理工大学。

随行的代表团包括文莱交通和信息通信部长拿督斯里塞蒂亚阿旺穆罕默德里扎本拿督帕杜卡哈吉穆罕默德尤诺斯和高级官员。
